Kathleen Hooper, LCSW became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia in 1990. Prior to entering private practice in 1995 her experience included six years working with military families assuring quality of mental health and substance abuse services, and three years specializing in family violence with the Chesapeake Juvenile Court. She developed and implemented residential behavioral programs for adolescents and by request, presented personal research to the Council on Social Work Education. Upon entering private practice she served as Program Coordinator for several Intensive Outpatient Substance Programs in the Tidewater Area. In 2002, she established Associates at York, Inc. offering outpatient mental health and substance abuse services. Her 25 years of experience has given her a keen understanding of human behavior and a feel for you as an individual. She has extensive experience with cultural diversity as she specializes in relationship issues that all humans can benefit from. She acts as a mediator for you when you have had a hard time communicating with your loved one. She will assist you in finding the right words you have been searching for to develop effective communication skills with your partner. Kathleen Hooper, LCSW has extensive experience working with addiction and substance abuse issues. She has worked intensively with the mandated populations and with individuals who have sought help on their own. Mr. Patrick Moriarty, LCSW, CSAC

Mr. Moriarty LCSW, CSAC received his MSW from Norfolk State University. He has worked with adults with mental illness, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. He has experience in the facilitation of community meetings, therapy groups and education groups. His counseling techniques include motivational interviewing, person centered therapy, solution focused therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. In addition to providing group therapy with Associates at York he works full time as a mental health and substance abuse clinician.

Ms. Gilmore-Hicks MSW,LCSW, is a multi-dimensional professional, whose experience spans a time period of more than twenty years. Ms. Gilmore-Hicks is an educator and licensed psychotherapist. She has worked with diverse populations in a variety of academic, mental health and medical settings. Her clinical practice is limited to the male and female adult populations. She is skilled in individual, couples’, and group therapy.
